Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte Recipe

Matcha magic ? made of pure green tea leaves ground into a fine powder, high quality matcha green tea powder is a great source of antioxidants and contains the amino acid L-Theanine, which is thought to enhance mood, memory and concentration. Something we learned from as we were curating June’s Food Therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine box is that although matcha is typically made hot as a latte, it is cool in nature according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. This means, matcha will help regulate body temperature so when you’re HOT during the summer, reach for some matcha instead of an iced water to cool you down!

To make an Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte here is what you’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (We used Purechimp from June’s box)
  • 1 mason jar with lid
  • 1 cup Almond Milk
  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener (we like to use monk fruit sweetener)

Method:

  1. In a mason jar, mix 1 tsp matcha green tea powder with a little bit of water –  just enough to form a paste. Stir until there are no clumps.
  1. Add the milk and and sweetener of choice.
  2. Cover with lid and shake vigorously until ingredients are well mixed. Add ice into jar and enjoy the easy clean-up of this recipe!
