A Day in The Life of Lifestyle Blogger, Meg

Meet Meg

Hi, there! My name is Meg McKenna and I am a blogger at ‘With Love, Meg’ – A Lifestyle Blog. What does being a “lifestyle blogger” mean? Well, to me it means sharing my love for all things in life whether it is food, nutrition, fashion, fitness, beauty, travel, or all of them combined! On top of being a blogger, I am also a full-time Dietetic Intern! I’m currently in my last month of university before embarking in a nine-month internship where I will learn all the tricks of the trade!

So, what does a day in the life of a lifestyle blogger look like? Let me tell you!

On days when I am focusing on only my blog, I am up bright and early to get the day started! The first thing on my plate is pouring myself a piping hot cup of coffee, adding some almond milk and sitting down to answer emails, respond to comments, and read my favorite blogs! Currently, I love reading “Gal Meets Glam” – my favorite fashion blog, “Design Love Fest” – the best for inspiration, and “So Beautifully Real” – for vegan recipes! And of course, what morning would be complete without scrolling through Instagram to check out what’s new! While I’m doing this, I’m usually chowing down on breakfast which is usually a smoothie bowl (mango is my go-to) or overnight oats!

Mid-morning, I love to sneak in a workout. My favorite right now is Barre! I absolutely love the combination of Ballet, Pilates, and Yoga – it seriously leaves me sweating and sore every time! So amazing, and such a great way to get energized for the day.

After that, I’m usually at home prepping for photo shoots! Depending on what content I’m working on that day, I’m either prepping food to be made into a recipe, working on flat lays of products, or styling my hair to get ready for a fashion shoot!

After some shooting, a late lunch is a must… and right now, I’m kind of obsessed with Buddha Bowls. I literally throw all the veggies I have into a pan with a little olive oil, and season with some curry spices before topping with tahini! This is such a great way to get so many essential vitamins and minerals, plus tons of fiber!

Following lunch, I like to have my second (or third) cup of coffee! And this is usually when I sit down to edit photos and write my blogs! I love this part of the day so much because I get to see everything come together! And getting to write down my thoughts and share it with my readers just makes me so happy!

I try to have all my blogging done by evening so that I can take some time to relax and de-stress! I love cooking dinner and my motto is – the more veggies, the better! If I’m lucky, my blog shoot from the day was a recipe, and therefore, I get to eat that! If it’s something sweet then dessert is taken care of!

Post-dinner if I’m not attending studying, hanging out with my dietetic gal pals (we love having themed potlucks!), at a fashion event, or out trying out a new restaurant or café, you can most likely find me curled up in my comfiest PJs, a cup of tea in hand, lots of blankets, reading a mystery novel or watching Netflix!
