Superfood Spiced Pecans Recipe

We’ve really outdone ourselves with this one! We couldn’t find a recipe we liked for these Superfood Spiced Pecans so we decided to create our own and maaaannn are they delicious! Here you go, you can thank us later!

What you will need:
⅔ cup coconut sugar
1½ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
¾ tsp cayenne pepper
½ tsp himalayan sea salt
¼ tsp cloves
¼ tsp curry powder
¼ tsp anise
1 tsp turmeric
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp fresh ground black pepper (I know this sounds strange, trust me)
1 egg white
1 cup  water
About 2+ cups of pecan halves
Drizzle of maple syrup

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 300º. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

Mix sugars and spices in a medium sized bowl. Make sure to mix this super well so that all of the spices and sugars are thoroughly combined.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg white and water until frothy. Add pecans and toss well to coat, letting the pecans sit in this water bath for 1-2 minutes. Next, scoop just the pecans out into the bowl that has the spice combination and throw away the remaining water. Toss pecans in spice mixture and continue mixing until nuts are completely coated.

Pour nuts onto parchment lined cookie sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with maple syrup. Bake at 300º for about thirty minutes giving it a stir every so often.

After thirty minutes remove from oven, allow to cool and store in an airtight container. We like to use mason jars.
